Drop-in advice service

Since November 2019, Swansea Law Clinic has been running a Drop-in advice service on Wednesday afternoons. Anyone was able to come along, without an appointment, to any of the Housing, Employment, General or Family clinics we ran. We worked with solicitors and paralegals from 8 different local solicitors’ practices, the solicitors would come to the Clinic facilities and set up in one of our appointment booths, along with a student volunteer who would shadow the appointment and take the case note. Together, they would then be able to offer 30-minute advice sessions to anyone who walked in requiring advice.

Since the pandemic, when working remotely, we have tried to maintain this service, now as a bookable appointment service (instead of a drop in). Appointments are still with a solicitor/paralegal from one of the firms we work with, and a student volunteer still attends to shadow the appointment and take the case note, however the appointments are now done remotely over Zoom.
