Cyber - Schools Outreach Programme

This is a team of researchers, educators and outreach specialists who act as Ambassadors for the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) CyberFirst programme in Wales. This pilot initiative is led by Dr. Sara Correia, a Lecturer in Cyber Threats at Swansea University’s Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law and a member of the Legal Innovation Lab Wales, the event’s hosts. Sara is also the lead investigator at the Swansea Cyber Clinic.

The aims are three-fold. Firstly, to encourage pupils in primary school Key Stage 2 to explore an interest in digital technologies and to help them realise that technology has implications across many disciplines and aspects of society, including law and ethics. Secondly, it aims to increase their understanding of cyber threats and online harms, as well as their rights and responsibilities as digital citizens. Finally, it seeks to bring pupils into a university setting in a fun and engaging way, to foster a sense of belonging.
